这段誓词我尝试翻译了一下，但总觉得流失了许多原来的味道：

别看这小小的一段话，翻译起来有好多地方不容易。
首先是第一句话“I, take you, to be my wife/husband”中的“take you”，翻成“愿意”？“接受”？“请求”？似乎都不够理想。这里的take you已经不止是一种意愿，而已经成为一种行动，是一种自发的承诺。而用“接受”又显得过于被动，用“请求”似乎多了一种原文没有的客套和询问。到底译作什么更好呢？我只能暂且用了“愿意”。希望大家能给出更好的答案哈。
另一地方是“Your people will be my people”，这里的your people是指什么？如果的君主帝王那很好办，可以翻成你的臣民或你的人民，可是这里的爱人双方不过都是普通人，译成你的人民有些不妥当。我觉得这里的“your people”可以是你的同胞，与你亲近的人，或者你亲爱的人，可以是你的亲友，也可以是同一种族的兄弟姐妹。
再一句话是“May the Lord do with me and more if anything but death parts you from me.”这句话乍一看可能有点不懂，我是这样理解的if anything but death parts you from me.如果只有死亡才能将你我分开。那么May the Lord do with me and more，就让上帝奖罚与我，即便再多的灾难，我也无所畏惧。
